This is my dumping grounds for chip related information I want to remember for future reference.

Due to multiple computers at work and home, I can’t always remember everything. Hence, post board for universal access.

The blog should be exclusively about existing and obsolete poker chip collecting in quantities other than single chips. (Quantities over a full rack for use in single table tournaments).

There is a bit of overkill in this hobby of collecting quantities of casino poker chips for use in a home game, but hey, it keeps me going.

I enjoy odd denominations on chips like 50 cents, $2, $2.50, $10 and $20. I’m also interested in ‘No Cash Value’ chips for use in tournaments (T25, T100, T500). I have been concentrating on Paulson GPI casino grade chips, because my first choice in manufacturers, TR King, is no longer in business.

January 2009 Edit:

Looking back on 2008, it seems that my goal of ’settling down’ on the purchasing did not go as planned. Net gains in numbers as well as types seem to be the norm. I now own a really nice set of denominated inlaid TRK’s for a deep SNG tourney. I also have 5 or 6 SNG Paulson tourney setups. And a solids TRK cash set. And a very heavy Paulson cash set.

Given the blow up on the MGK purchase and the potential sale of BCC I don’t think I will ever own a fully custom set. I never fell for ASM.

So, for 2009, TRK’s and Paulsons. Let’s see what happens this year. I hope to actually stick to my plan and reduce churn as well as the actual # of chips in my closet and at my office desk.

March 2009 edit:

Given the state of the economy and my personal job status, almost all Paulsons have been sold off, leaving only TRK’s and a few straggler racks of GPI clay in the closet. The focus and goal now? Finding things that inspire me, keep me happy and engaged with all things clay. Less consumption, more observation.
